Driving Incidents (per 100km)

All of our figures are broken down into incidents per 100km so that you can have an apples-to-apples comparison.
e.g It does not matter if a vehicle drove 100 km or 5000km your comparison will be shown for every 100km driven, allowing you to identify the riskiest drivers in your fleet.

Incidents per 100km:
  1. 00 - 16 incidents per 100km - Good - Your vehicles are being driven well.
  2. 17 - 28 incidents per 100km - Moderate - The driving of your vehicles have room for improvment.
  3. > 28 incidents per 100km - Concerning - Your vehicles are on the higher end of the risk spectrum.

Speeding = Increase in potential accidents

Business Implication: High values indicate vehicles more likely to get into an accident.

Details: Please review the speeding rules and see where there may be significant indidents of speeding. Incidents of high speeidng values are often indicators of higer risk and a higher likelihood of being in an accident.

Harsh Braking = Wear and Tear & Increase in potential accidents

Business Implication: High values indicate vehicles are more likely to get into an accident and you will spend more money replacing brakes.

Details: This metric is usually an indicator of drivers not giving themselves enough time to stop (e.g. before an intersection or behind another vehicle) and that means they have to apply brakes suddenly or with greater intensity. This causes increase wear on the tires and is an indicator of a higher liklihood of being in an accident.

Harsh Cornering = More $$ spent replacing tires

Business Implication: High values indicate you will likely spend more money replacing tires.

Details: This metric indicates that drivers are not slowing down enough before turning corners. Though this metric is not indicative of the accident rate, it is often an indicator of increased tire wear and thus higher vehicle expenditure.

Harsh Acceleration = More Fuel Used

Business Implication: High values indicate you will likely spend more money on fuel.

Details: This metric indicates that drivers are accelerating quickly and thus may be using more fuel than necessary to drive the vehicle. Reducing this metric often is an opportunity to save on fuel.

Fuel usage due to idling = Potential $ Savings

Business Implication: Higher values indicate a potential opportunity to save money.

Details: This metric shows how much fuel is being used due to idling for your vehicles. Larger vehicles use more fuel while idling, and smaller vehicles use less. Large values here indicate an opportunity for you to ask your drivers to turn off their vehicles (if not business critical e.g. cold storage or turbo spool-down) when the vehicles are stationary.
